How the college explosive profile affects rookie value

The model uses the same repeatable long-play framework as the NFL profile but creates a separate same-position college cohort. It blends impact per opportunity, impact per game, cohort production share, long-touchdown rate, and longest gain, then weights peak and recent college seasons. The result can make only a small, capped dynasty adjustment for rookies and never replaces draft capital, projections, ECR, role, or availability. Source: cfbfastR SportsDataverse play-by-play.

How the explosive profile and league overlay work

The NFL Explosive Index compares a player only with the same position. Its season model blends impact per opportunity, impact per game, positional share, long-touchdown rate, and longest gain; the career index blends 50% peak season, 30% recent three-season form, and 20% career share percentile. The league overlay reads synchronized Sleeper scoring for long-play and yardage-threshold bonuses. Those rules affect league-scored projections and fantasy value without rewriting the player’s league-neutral NFL explosiveness. Source: nflverse play-by-play and Sleeper league settings.
